This is true, Cynthia. We are so busy being "happy" and thinking positive thoughts that we don't want to consider the possibility that we might die, so we do not plan (and we refuse to acknowledge the inevitability of death).

It's a hard conversation to have with loved ones even if we are willing. People want to postpone the planning of a will or a discuss buying a pre-paid funeral plan. I have both, but it took my late husband's illness and eventual death to get these things in order, so I know I'm like most people when it comes to avoiding this subject.

Thank you for bringing up this topic in such a caring way and reminding us of its importance, Cynthia.
